That Lucky Chinese Rabbit!

Chinese people use many symbols. Often, these symbols have represented a number of different things like special goals for the future, an earnest desire for an improved life, and certainly hope for a prosperous, happy career. Some of these symbols are reminders of the ancient stories or important events relevant to Chinese history. Other symbols prompt people to achieve success in business or relationships. When it comes to the lucky rabbit figurine, there is more to this symbol than what we can see with our eyes. The rabbit symbol tends to have two distinct associations with China.

The rich culture of China is more than five thousand years old. The earliest literature of China is folklore. In fact, folklores existed before the Chinese started writing characters. The tradition of telling and re-telling these folklores was passed down from one generation to the next one. Long before they were put in written form, many of these folklores became so popular that they earned the status of proverbs. Proverbs are simply short sayings that teach values. Over time these proverbs acquired popularity. Some of these famous proverbs are merely the title of a story with only a few words, easy to recite, and very easy to recall later. They even began to be taught in schools! Students would memorize these proverbs and say them from memory. Because this practice is widely popular in the culture of China, people often quote them in their ordinary conversation or writing.

A question modern people often ask is: How did folklores get started? In ancient China, ordinary people did not understand what we know as "science." They could not understand the workings of the material world in a precise manner. The harsh causes of natural disasters and weather changes often brought frustration to their lives. They began to make up stories to express their frustration and dismay. Their hope was that eventually their lives would improve. Taken as a whole, their stories were beautiful and touching. The tales all stressed positive ideals. In the story "Wait Next to the Tree for the Rabbit" the role of a rabbit plays an important part in teaching the value of diligence and hard work. After reading or hearing this story, the realization that one must work in order to reap a harvest is very obvious.

A second association in China with the rabbit is even more clear. The Chinese Zodiac Rabbit symbol is very popular, especially since the year 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit. The Zodiac symbols describe the qualities of people based on their sign in the year of their birth. A person born in the year of the rabbit is said to lead a more conservative lifestyle. One of the most important things to such a person is their security. The problem for this type of personality is that choosing safety over risk can mean that this person may miss a good opportunity. It does not mean that a rabbit person is frivolous or not responsible. For when they truly believe in what they have chosen to do they can be very serious, capable, and determined. In addition, rabbit people are not easily provoked. They have been called sentimental and compassionate. They tend to be moved by the personal problems of other people. Rabbit people cry easily!

When it comes to love affairs, rabbit people are a favorite choice too. The Zodiac sign indicates that they can be excellent partners in these kinds of relationships. They are romantic. They are sweet. They are faithful too. For this reason, they seldom lack lovers. However, they are in extreme need of trust, security, and tenderness in their relationship. Rabbit people are most happy when they can create a very intimate and relaxed atmosphere. In spite of their devotion to their loved one, rabbit people also need a secret side to their life. It is natural for this kind of person to want to be alone in order to find calm within. They must understand their own feelings during this time. In conclusion, it has been noted that the ideal job for a rabbit person might be a counselor, barrister, judge, solicitor, adviser, or secretary.

The lucky Chinese rabbit has a wide range of positive qualities. The popularity of the rabbit symbol has never wavered in China. It has an extremely loveable quality to it. If you are a rabbit person (or know someone who is) this is a perfect gift. People who are not Chinese will relate to this special symbol very easily too. In any case, may you have the very best of luck in finding your own lucky rabbit!

Chinese Zodiac Lucky Numbers

Chinese zodiac signs are assigned to predict the nature and future developments in the lives of people by observing the repetitive cycle of 12 animal representations of 12 consecutive years. They are done in this way that if the first year is assigned a certain animal symbol, then again after 12 years that is the 13th year will again be considered under the influence of the same sign.

So all the persons born in a particular year are considered to be influenced by only one animal, while the next year which has a different animal associated with it will influence the lives of all those who are born in that year. Each of these years is associated with a lucky number.

Usually Chinese zodiacs consider even numbers to be luckier and associated with welfare than odd numbers. Their culture always boosts the use of even numbers in every occasion. They usually gift people in pair. A pair consists of 2 things which is a symbol of harmony and germination.

Six is pronounced in Chinese language as "liu" which has got to do with everything being operated very smoothly without any obstruction in the path. The number eight is pronounced as "ba" which sounds like "fa", this has got to do with luck and making a good fortune. The use of number eight is very frequent and common among businessmen. They would associate this number very closely with their dealings.

But there is an exception to this rule of even numbers. Unlike 2, 6 and 8 the number 4 is not considered auspicious. It is pronounced as "si" which is sounds like death in the Chinese language. So it is treated like an ill omen by the Chinese people and not considered lucky as a zodiac lucky number. This is the reason why people avoid making use of this number in their car license, room numbers, phone numbers or in any kind of tags.

Though all odd numbers are not considered to be unlucky and not worthy of being associated with any of the zodiacs. For example the number 7 is usually associated with anger, wrath or abandoning, but the number 9 has nothing to do with negative vibes. The number 9 is closely linked with eternality and the longevity of any kind of life on earth.

Based on these facts and ideas of lucky numbers and zodiacs even the young lovers send particular number of roses to their beloved. If specifically 9 roses are selected to be sent as a gift to a lover then it conveys the message that they would love each other eternally ever after.

There are quite a number of interesting facts and stories related to Chinese zodiac and lucky numbers.
